Discipline (jpn shitsuke), which is written as a combination of two Chinese characters meaning 'beautiful' and 'self', is a word that may well describe the process by which we acquire inner beauty through mastering the rhythm with which we can operate our day-to-day lives open-heartedly, harmoniously, and enjoyably, together with those around us.
